It's 2 a.m..
I am still awake, cranking out a 5-7 page research paper that is due tomorrow at noon. Procrastination is a disease, and my case is lethal. This sucks.

...but I know I'm going to end up doing it again and again and again and again...

I hope someone learns from this. I know it's not going to be me.

"The scales beneath your skin are showing off today. There’s evil in your heart, and it wants out to play."

Happy Halloween, everyone. I hope you all have fun and are safe tonight.
I actually don't think I'm doing anything...unless something comes up, I'll be home handing out candy to cute little children. =] Either way, I love Halloween; it's hands down my favorite holiday.

Do you know someone who’s struggled with addiction? How did it affect your relationship with them?

Sponsored by MTV's Gone Too Far. Tune into the series premiere this Monday at 10 p.m. EST.

My father was addicted to drugs throughout my childhood. I remember him being very distant, very absent when I was little. He never wanted to go my school related things, like awards or plays, and when he did, he was always moody and angry.
It definitely added to the strain on his and my mother's already tense marriage, and ruined what we had. They've divorced and it's only been recently that we've managed to put it behind us (and he put the drugs behind him).

He's never going to be the dad that I needed and wanted him to be, but he's making an effort now to be something in my life. I suppose that's all I can ask for now.

What was the most memorable concert you ever attended? What made it so magical?

View 1501 Answers

Mayhem Festival 2009 in VA.
Not only was it memorable because it was my first concert, but it showed a different side of heavy metal bands I wasn't sure existed.

It was hotter than hell, and the concert was outside. Since it was a heavy metal concert, moshing was taking place, as well as heavy drinking. Almost all of the bands (included: All That Remains, Trivium, God Forbid, Killswitch Engage) stopped at some point during their performances to remind everyone to stay hydrated and stay cool. Trivium's lead singer even said, "if someone falls in the pit, pick up and get 'em out of there, but don't stop fighting otherwise!".

Who is the most inspiring teacher you ever had and why? How often do you think about what they taught you? How has it changed your life?

The most inspiring...

It would have to be my art and photography teacher I had in high school. Not only was he an excellent teacher, he showed me it was possible to accept people from all different "cliques" and "stereotypes" for what they were worth, not by their faults. He was a genuinely good person that lit up high school for me and so many other people.

"The meaning of life is to create."

The people in the yard across from mine are drunk and howling for some reason. They sound like Chims from the .hack//GU games, and while that is kind of hilarious, it is still annoying as hell and I want to go kick them.

Is beer pong really that fun? >>;;;

It's only 11:19pm but STILL. Annoying.

I think it's pretty funny that a 14 week old puppy can take on and terrify a year and a half old dog. [info]netiri_sama  brought over her sausage roll Ace (chihuaua) for a play date with my Sookie. She totally beat the crap out of him.
Now, Ace is calmly sitting in my lap, watching the letters appear as I type.

Honestly. Truly. I hate little dogs. Promise.

So, pre-selection went well...

...I just can't make Rinian again. *sigh* It's all right. I made her big sister instead. Mmrph. I'm still bitter though. My brother can make all of his cool characters just the way he wants them and I can't even redo my baby.

Oh, life.

Eh. I just missed two days of college because I came down with my yearly cold from hell. I sound like a boy going through puberty, and while that is most amusing, I'm still a little annoyed. But I proved to my English teacher that it wasn't just because of that paper I wanted to gouge my eyeballs out over. He just needs me to bring in a hard copy and we'll be good. =] I'll be back on schedule next week, medicine willing.

Still no job yet, but my mother and I have come to terms with each other. I'm still designated to be cut off monetarily but miraculously, I received my refund check from my summer class that I'd dropped and since I had paid for it with my own cash, I got to take back the money. So, even if I don't get a job (I still want one), I have some funds to live off of for a bit.

My brother pre-orded AION for me so we, as well as the others who preordered, get to do pre-selection today. That means we get to make two characters and pick our names before anyone else. And then on Sunday, we get a two day head start with a pair of shwanky new wings. It must be awful for me to be so excited about this. XD

So many pretty things come out this month; AION, Paramore's new album, and a new series by JR Ward. Mmm, pretties.

I hope all of you are having an excellent time in college or with whatever you're involved in!

Well, the Aion beta tester is closed. Meaning all of my hard work is wiped clean for the final touch-ups (and my brother and I were two seconds away from ascending with my new Asmodian scout-to-be-assassin). However, my brother spoiled me silly by pre-ordering me the game, so now I have my own account, and anyone who pre-ordered gets to start game-play two days ahead of everyone else. Also, I get special wingies and armor. Yes, I am going to be one of those people.

In response to the fun times we had at RenFest, my mom's boyfriend purchased a bow and arrow set for the backyard. I honestly stayed outside for an accumulative 3 hours just firing off arrows. God, it's so much fun. This man is so awesome; he's bringing so many new things into this house that no one ever thought we would ever be able to experience.

I went to the Renaissance Festival today with my family. Had a lot of fun, but I am exhausted. Five hours of sleep + 9 hours of walking on uneven ground + sunlight [and that one vitamin it gives you] = a very sleepy person, even with a nap included.

Slash: "I have free nights and weekends in my pants!"
Hack: "But no long distance!"
Audience: "ohhhhhhhh!"

We watched two bands play before Hack&Slash (a swordplay/comedy duo). One was Hungarian Gypsies, and the other was a Scottish band called the Rogues, I believe. Both were excellent. The gypsies played music that seemed to attract belly dancers, note, not hired ones. They stood on either side of the stage dancing and showing off, and it was wonderful.
One of the Rogues' player's son [I believe he was 6 or so] was trying to play one of the big drums and spinning around in his kilt. During some of the faster songs, though, he would jump off of the stage and run through the audience, picking out little girls around his age to come up on the stage and dance with him. It was the most adorable thing I've seen in a long time.

Also, I rode an elephant. My poor hips. X_X

For some reason, the picture uploader isn't working, so I can't post any pictures. =/ Oh well.

So, how do I drown my unemployed, poor woes? By playing an incredibly awesome new MMORPG called Aion. Sure, I have to share my brother's account, but with his work and school schedule in tandem with my school and slave labor schedule, it works out. I'm already a higher level than he is...^^;;;

But seriously, this game is gorgeous. And I'm enjoying myself, which doesn't usually happen when I play MMORPGS (like WoW. My social phobia was awful, but the people I did talk to were really nice.) BUT. ITS. SO. CUTE. The weather changes, of course, but when it rains, the characters look up at the sky, stick their hands out to collect rain, and then pull out giant umbrella leaves. And when they idle in the water, they laugh and play with it.
I am such a sucker for the little things. XDD;;

Meet "Rinian", my level 7 Elyos (the light people) scout, dual wielding and well on her way to becoming a ranger.

The leaf umbrellas!! Seriously, I'd buy one. They're freakin' adorable. <333
